The Big Hole National Battlefield is located ten miles west of Wisdom and was the site of the historic Battle of the Big Hole on August 9 and 10, 1877. Visitors enjoy the self-guided tours that relay the events of the battle. Rangers conduct tours of the battlefield throughout the summer months and there is a visitor center that educates visitors.
