    Silver Run National Recreation Trail, located in Custer National Forest in southern Montana, is a popular trail for cross-country skiing in the winter. Access: The trailhead is roughly 5 mi (8 km) west of Red Lodge.

    Long Valley Snowmobile Trail
    The Long Valley Snowmobile Trail is part of the 200-mile Bone Trail network southeast of Idaho Falls and northeast of Blackfoot. Access: Take the Blackfoot exit off Interstate 15, travel NE on Hwy 91 about 7 miles, just pass Kimball. Turn east on Wolverine Road.

    Grinnell Glacier Trail
    The hike follows Lake Josephine. The first 2 miles are relatively flat, followed by a gradual incline. The trail ends at Upper Grinnell Lake and Grinnell Glacier.

    Basin Lake National Recreation Trail, located in Custer National Forest, is located near Red Lodge in southern Montana. The round trip to the Upper Basin Lake is roughly 12 mi (19 km), and the trip to the Lower Basin Lake is roughly 5 mi (8 km).
