    Located on McLeod Street south of downtown, this city park features picnic facilities, a new and modern 1000 Hands Playground as well as several tennis courts which are open to the public. The park is also home to the outdoor Ramsey Swimming Pool which is open June through August.

    Helena National Forest
    The Helena National Forest covers nearly one million acres of diverse lands. Activities include hiking the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, fishing the Blackfoot and Missouri Rivers and viewing big game in the 129,000-acre Elkhorn Wildlife Management Unit.     Kirk Wildlife Refuge
    The Kirk Wildlife Refuge is a 17 acre area that is ideal for fishing on the Gallatin River. The refuge is open all year during daylight hours. Only hand launching of boats is permitted. There are no signs to the park, but it is located five miles south of Gallatin Gateway on northeast and southeast sides of US Highway 191.

    Travelers' Rest State Park
    Travelers' Rest was used twice during the historic Lewis and Clark expedition as a camp, and for hundreds of years before that it was an Indian camping crossroad. Today it is a day-use-only state park that offers visitors a piece of the past.

    Lake Mary Ronan State Park
    Just seven miles west of Flathead Lake off the beaten path and shaded by Douglas-fir and western larch, this park provides an opportunity to pick huckleberries, hunt mushrooms, and spot interesting birds. Trails lead into the surrounding area which abound in wildflowers and wildlife. Fish, swimming, and camping are popular activities within the park.

    Bob Marshall Wilderness Area
    The 1,009,356 acre Bob Marshall Wilderness is located in Northwestern Montana just east of Bigfork. The Wilderness is noted for its excellent hunting, fishing, scenery, and geology. The area is highlighted by a huge escarpment known as the "Chinese Wall". The wall averages 1,000 feet in height and extends 22 miles along the Continental Divide. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Area is located in the Flathead, Lolo and Lewis and Clark National Forests in Montana. Activities include fishing, hiking and rafting.

    Granite Ghost Town State Park
    Granite Ghost Town is a harsh reminder of how fragile the mining business can be. This 1890s town that was known for its silver has well-preserved buildings which allow visitors to experience an old town that was bustling with activity just over a century ago.     Beaverhead Rock State Park
    Beaverhead Rock is a large landmark that was noticed by Sacagawea, while traveling with the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805. The Rock is said to look like the head of a swimming beaver. The site can be viewed from a distance, but it is not directly accessible. The Park is located 14 miles south from Twin Bridges.

    Savenac Nursery
    At the Savenac Nursery, visitors can learn the story of how millions of trees changed the future of the national forests. Established in 1907, Savenac was once one of the largest U.S. Forest Service tree nurseries in the United States, producing 12 million seedlings annually to reforest national forests throughout the country. Although the nursery is no longer used to produce seedlings, the site remains intact and retains its original flavor. It was designated a National Historic Site in July 2000. Interpretive trails and signs relate the tale for visitors to enjoy.
