    Museum of the Yellowstone
    Located in the historic Union Pacific building in West Yellowstone, the Museum of the Yellowstone offers educational displays on the history of the park. Exhibits include stage coach and railroad displays, wildlife of the area and the destructive fire that swept through the park in 1988.

    Carbon County Historical Society Museum
    Housed in a century-old four-story brick building on the main street of Red Lodge, the Carbon County Historical Society Museum features a Mercantile Museum Store as well as local interest exhibits, including one showcasing rodeo history from the 1930s and 40s. In summer, the museum is open Monday through Saturday while in winter it is open Tuesday through Saturday.

    Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Wildlife Visitor Center

    Granite County Museum and Cultural Center
    The Granite County Museum is located in the historic Courtney Hotel and was founded in 1991. Museum exhibits include photographs portraying the lives of early day miners, ranchers and townspeople. The Ghost Town Hall of Fame is also located in the museum and gives a pictorial history of Montana ghost towns.

    Yellowstone Gateway Museum of Park County
    The Yellowstone Gateway Museum is located in the North Side School built in 1906, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum includes various artifacts from the 1860s to the 1940s, including stage coaches, Fort Yellowstone bell and W.H. Jackson chromolithographs. There are also exhibits on Lewis and Clark, Buffalo Bill Cody and the Texas Rangers.

    St. Ignatius Mission
    Built in the early 1890s, the St. Ignatius Mission is a unique Catholic Church. The walls and ceilings are decorated with 61 original paintings by Brother Joseph Carignano. There is a museum and gift shop located next to the Mission. Sunday mass occurs at 9:15 a.m.

    World Museum of Mining
    This national historical site preserves the history of the mining tradition. Located on what once was the the Orphan Girl Mine, visitors may see tools and equipment used in underground mining. Ride on the three-car train pulled by a 1911 underground trammer engine that takes you around the museum grounds. Closed from November until March.

    Duman Brothel Museum
    The Dumas was built in 1890 as a brothel and remained in business until 1982, making it the longest running freestanding enterprise of its kind in the United States. The Dumas is the only preserved building in what was once Butte’s thriving red light district.
