Every July, Red Lodge comes alive with all manner of visitors, including motorcycling enthusiasts. The town hosts up to three bike rallies throughout the summer, including the Bull Pen Rally, a five-day affair full of tons of live music, Harley Davidsons galore, freestyle shows, mechanical bull action and more. On-site free camping included with tickets.

The Red Lodge Music Festival is unique in that it is part festival, part music camp for high-school students. The nine-day festival has been taking place since 1964 and offers afternoon and evening concerts and recitals to the public, by both faculty and students.

The town has a history of rodeo which dates back to the late 1890s and for over 75 years, it has hosted the Home of Champions Parade & Rodeo. The three-day July event features parades which are held everyday at noon on the town's main street downtown while the evening rodeos feature some of professional rodeo's top cowboys and cowgirls, bullfighters and clowns.

The Beartooth Run and Ride Weekend consists of two separate events, held every August on Beartooth Pass near Red Lodge. The run has taken place for over 40 years and consists of two events of differing distances, while the ride has been added to the weekend in recent years and consists of a 20 mi (32 km) climb from town along the Beartooth Scenic Byway.
