    Kootenai National Forest
    The Kootenai National Forest is located in the extreme Northwest corner of Montana and Northeast Idaho and encompasses over 2.2 million acres. The Forest is dominated by two major rivers, the Kootenai and the Clark Fork, along with several smaller rivers and their tributaries. Wildlife viewing, boating and camping are popular activities within the forest.

    Logan State Park
    With frontage on the north shore of Middle Thompson Lake, Logan is heavily forested with western larch, Douglas-fir, and ponderosa pine. This park nestles on 17 acres adjacent to 3,000 acres of recreation opportunities within the Thompson Chain of Lakes, connecting and containing Upper, Middle and Lower Thompson lakes. Swimming, boating, camping, water-skiing, and fishing are popular activities within the park.
