Camp Fortunate Overlook Camp Fortunate Overlook was a significant stop on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. At Camp Fortunate, Lewis and Clark met the Limhi Shoshoni Tribe who accepted the journey that the group was on. Lewis and Clark stashed their canoes and supplies for the return journey at Camp Fortunate. There is a historical marker along the highway relating the event.
